Dye-SR™ is an advanced, non-invasive light-based treatment designed to safely and effectively reduce redness, pigmentation, rosacea, and vascular lesions using targeted Advanced Fluorescence Technology (AFT). Operating within a precise wavelength range of 550–650 nm, Dye-SR™ delivers superior results with minimal downtime, making it a safer and more effective alternative to traditional IPL. It works by precisely targeting melanin and/or redness to even out skin tone without damaging or affecting nearby healthy skin.

Dye-SR™ emits light at 550–650 nm, absorbed by:
• Melanin in pigmented lesions (e.g., sunspots, freckles, age spots)
• Haemoglobin in vascular lesions (e.g., redness, broken capillaries, rosacea)
Once absorbed, this light energy converts into heat, precisely damaging the pigment or blood vessels without affecting surrounding tissue. The body then naturally eliminates these damaged cells, restoring clearer, more even-toned skin.
1. Targeting Pigmentation
• Light is absorbed by melanin in the epidermis.
• Heat breaks down pigment-containing cells.
• Over time, damaged melanin is shed through natural skin turnover (28-day cycle), exfoliation, and immune processes (macrophages), fading discolouration for brighter, clearer skin.

• Haemoglobin absorbs the light, generating heat that collapses and destroys small blood vessels.

The DYE SR handpiece uses advanced fluorescent technology (AFT) which utilises fully, the energy which may otherwise be unused, converting it so that it can be distributed evenly; even a low treatment setting can prove extremely effective, whilst minimising the risks that can usually be associated with normal IPL treatments.
The special cooling system also aids skin comfort during this treatment. Only the tissues which are targeted are affected by the treatment and the surrounding tissues are kept intact.
At Leicester MediSpa we will ask that you attend an initial consultation, to determine how many treatments may be required for your individual skin concerns. Many patients achieve initial results after 1 session. However, most patients require on average 3 – 6 treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart, for optimum results.
For cases such as thread veins, spider veins and pigmentation issues, the results can be permanent, but will not prevent further broken veins or sun damage from occurring. It’s important to have realistic expectations and to also take care of your skin, following your IPL treatments, so that the results can be enjoyed long-term and the risk of further skin damage is minimised.
