Why should I use Obagi Skincare?

Originally formulated for use by only highly trained physicians and widely known for its powerful Obagi ‘Blue Peel’ for skin resurfacing, the Obagi at-home-use skincare range can be offered as part of a prescribed programme by your Leicester MediSpa practitioner, to compliment and optimize our highly effective, in-clinic treatments.

Obagi products offer condition-specific treatments to gently, yet comprehensively treat a range of some of the most common skin concerns, utilising prescription-strength formulations.

How do I know I am suitable for Obagi skincare?

Prior to prescribing the most appropriate skincare routine for your individual skin concerns, we will conduct an initial consultation to examine your skin using our Observ520x skin analysis device. The consultation will allow us to discuss any concerns you may have about your complexion and ensure that there are no medical contraindications that might prevent you using Obagi skincare products. We will then design and implement a tailor-made programme of in-clinic treatments and at-home-use skincare, for the very best results.

What happens during an Obagi Blue Peel Radiance treatment at Leicester MediSpa?

The Blue Peel Radiance system that we offer here at Leicester MediSpa is a multi-step chemical peel, performed by one of our highly trained Obagi skin experts. A series of gentle facial acids are applied, which exfoliate and resurface the skin. Dead skin cells are removed, and pigmentation starts to fade, revealing fresh, new and healthy skin cells. This treatment lasts around 30 minutes and offers little to no downtime, therefore, you can return to your daily routine immediately afterwards, with a fresh and glowing complexion.
The number of sessions recommended will be dependent on your skin concerns. In general, we recommend a course of 6 treatments, with each treatment spaced approximately 2 weeks apart.

Obagi NuDerm FX

The NuDerm FX system is a range of products to be used at home for between approximately 12-20 weeks dependent on your skin concerns. The Nu-Derm® Fx System is a skin care system that transforms your skin on a cellular level. By addressing the signs of photodamage and restoring the healthy function of your skin cells, this system is clinically proven to result in younger and healthier-looking skin.

Each NuDerm FX System contains:

Cleanser – Gentle Cleanser (Dry) or Foaming Gel (Oily)
Toner
Clear Fx
Exfoderm (Dry) or Exfoderm Forte (Oily)
Blend Fx
Hydrate
Sun Shield Matte SPF50

Obagi NuDerm Fx does not contain the following, but it is advised to use alongside the Obagi Fx regime:
• Obagi Retinol 0.5% or 1%

You will be given full instructions of how and when to use each product by your Leicester MediSpa practitioner. During the NuDerm FX programme, you may experience some skin peeling, dryness and shedding, this is quite normal and is to be expected.

You will be regularly monitored throughout use of the NuDerm FX system, and your regime may be adjusted accordingly to your specific skin reactions by altering the use of one or more of the products at certain times.
