Before we can advise on whether you will be suitable for skin booster injections, we will ask that you attend a pre-treatment consultation and facial analysis with one of our medical practitioners. You will be able to discuss your individual facial concerns and we can advise on the specific product that would be best suited to your unique requirements. We will also check your medical history in order to make sure that there are no medical contraindications which could prevent or restrict your skin booster injections treatment from going ahead.
Once we are satisfied that skin boosters will be suitable and safe for you to undergo, we will be able to schedule your first treatment.

Prior to your skin booster injections being administered, a topical anaesthetic may be applied to the treatment area/s, in order to ensure your comfort. As with any treatment using a needle or cannula, there can be some slight discomfort, but you should not feel severe pain. If at any time you are experiencing more discomfort than expected, you can let your medical practitioner know and they will be able to apply more topical anaesthetic.
Teosyal Redensity 1 and Restylane Vital contain local anaesthetic to further minimise discomfort.

There are very few medical side-effects with skin booster injections, however, as with any injectable treatment, you may experience some swelling, slight bruising, tenderness, welt-like spots, pin point marks and redness at the injection sites. This is completely normal and the use of ice packs, arnica gel and avoiding hot saunas or steam and alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours after your treatment will help to avoid excessive symptoms. You will be provided with specific aftercare advice post treatment.

It is worth considering that, as skin boosters require several injections at various points on the face, that sometimes rather obvious injection marks can be seen and may be tricky to hide. We advise not to wear make-up for at least the first 12 hours but ideally the first 24 hours after treatment, to minimise the risk of infection. Therefore, timing your skin booster treatment in advance of important social events or holidays might be worth considering.

Restylane skin boosters are biodegradable. This means that they are naturally broken down by the body over time. To ensure optimum, long-lasting results, a course of 3 treatments, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart will most likely be recommended, followed by maintenance treatments every 6 months.

Teoxane Redensity 1 has a similar requirement and a course of 3 treatments, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart is usually recommended, followed by 3 to 6 monthly maintenance sessions.

BELOTERO® Revive is the newest product to the BELOTERO® portfolio. We recommend a course of 1 to 3 treatments, no less than 4 weeks apart, followed by 6 to 12 monthly top up sessions for maintenance.

This depends on the product used and your individual response to treatment. We usually recommend to expect to see results after your second session.

The longevity of your results really does depend on several factors:

• The facial area treated
• How progressed your signs of ageing appear
• The type of product used
• Your body’s own rate of metabolising the skin booster components
• Lifestyle factors (skincare, smoking, sitting in the sun will reduce the longevity of your results)
• Whether or not, you maintain results with the recommended top up sessions
